Chilled Rollers

Similar to heat transfer rollers, chilled rollers eliminate excess heat from production environments by running cooling liquids through the roller core. Liquids used in chilled rollers may include but are not limited to municipal water supply, glycol, filtered water and various other chemical compounds.

Our chilled rollers can introduce fluid via mono flow design (liquid in one end and out the other end), or a dual-flow design (liquid in/ out the same end).

Though we also supply chilled rollers with cores of flame-hardened 4140 steel, stainless steel, low-carbon steel, and Hastelloy, one of our most popular chilled roller constructions is hard chromium plating over a selected core metal. Hard chromium is electro-deposited directly to the base metal without an underlying substrate such as copper or nickel. This becomes a “fusion bond” instead of a “mechanical bond” as with sprayed metal coatings.

All of our chilled rollers can be tested and verified to make sure it meets your exact specifications.

Measurements we provide include Pro-Mic Roll Profile, Electronic Run-Out, Millionths indicators, Precision Snap Gauges from, Ultra-Sonic measuring, Electronic hardness measuring, Vernier calipers, Material Certifications, Calibrated micrometers up to 36” and Pi-Tapes up to 48”- all under controlled environmental conditions
